Creative Ways into Work began as a filmmaking course for young people, aiming to equip participants with all of the skills required to create their own film, including storyboarding, scriptwriting, camera operation, & editing. During the filmmaking process, other key employability skills are developed, such as communication, time management, and teamwork.
“Creative Ways into Work” is more than just a training course; it’s a gateway to a brighter future. We understand that many young people face barriers when it comes to accessing creative opportunities and, more importantly, finding a path to sustainable employment.
Creative Ways into Work has been running for over ten years, and serves as our longest project here at Blueprint Arts. We have evolved to offer other creative opportunities which offer the same employment skills development, including running our amazing Youth Advisory Board.
We are currently funded by Colyer Fergusson, to deliver 3 years’ worth of Creative Ways into Work in Kent.
Youth Advisory Board
Our Youth Advisory Board (YAB) is at the core of everything we do at Blueprint Arts. Meeting twice a month, this group of passionate young people helps shape our creative projects, ensuring that youth voices remain at the heart of our work.
The YAB is a platform for young creatives to gain hands-on experience, explore their interests, and develop skills. We offer work experience in areas they’re passionate about and provide support for any projects they want to run. By empowering young people to lead, create, and influence, we ensure that our work remains relevant, inclusive, and driven by those it impacts most.
We are always open to taking on new board members – please do get in touch if you are a young person based in Gravesend or the surrounding areas.
