Anti-Discrimination Policy

Vision

At Blueprint Arts, we envision a world where creativity knows no bounds and every individual’s artistic voice is celebrated. We are dedicated to empowering people whose artistic talents and contributions are often overlooked, providing them with the platforms and recognition they deserve to address the pressing issues of our times.

About Us

As a leading community-led arts organisation in North Kent, Blueprint Arts is committed to breaking barriers and fostering inclusivity in the arts. For nearly 20 years, we have collaborated with individuals from marginalised groups, transcending traditional boundaries of genre and art forms. Our mission is to explore innovative and inclusive approaches to amplify the ideas and experiences of our participants, sharing them with a world that still struggles to value the perspectives of minority communities.

Our Approach

Female-led and guided by principles of anti-racism, inclusivity, feminism, sustainability, intersectionality and experimentation, Blueprint Arts is known for our high quality arts experiences & long-term engagements with communities. From small group encounters to large-scale projects in confidential safe spaces, we engage with participants both in-person and through online platforms. Our projects span across art forms and genres, underpinned by thorough research, extensive training, and a deep commitment to understanding the needs and aspirations of our participants and their support networks.

Our Commitment

We are dedicated to creating and presenting work of the highest standard, whether live, online, or in hybrid formats. Our productions embody integrity, inclusivity, accessibility, equity, feminism, anti-racism, and environmental consciousness. At Blueprint Arts, we strive to cultivate a culture where every artistic contribution is valued, celebrated, and given the platform it deserves.

We pledge to:

  1. Educate Ourselves: We will continuously educate ourselves and our community about the historical and contemporary impact of racism and the importance of anti-racism efforts.
  2. Promote Equity: We will actively work to promote equity and fairness in all aspects of our organisation, including hiring practices, programming, and partnerships.
  3. Amplify Marginalised Voices: We will amplify the voices of marginalised communities and provide platforms for their stories, perspectives, and experiences to be heard and valued. We will serve as a trustworthy ally.
  4. Take Action: We will take concrete actions to address discrimination within our organisation and in the broader community. This includes speaking out against injustice, supporting anti-racism initiatives, and advocating for policy changes that promote equality.
  5. Hold Ourselves Accountable: We will hold ourselves accountable for upholding these principles and creating a culture of anti-racism within Blueprint Arts. We will regularly assess our progress, listen to feedback, and make necessary adjustments to ensure we are living up to our commitment.

Together, we can create a more just and equitable world where diversity is celebrated, and everyone has the opportunity to thrive. Join us in our journey towards a more inclusive future.

In solidarity,
