Creative Ways Into Work

About

Creative Ways into work is a filmmaking course for young people, aiming to equip participants with all of the skills required to create their own film, including storyboarding, scriptwriting, camera operation, & editing. During the filmmaking process, other key employability skills are developed, such as communication, time management, and teamwork.

“Creative Ways into Work” is more than just a filmmaking course; it’s a gateway to a brighter future. We understand that many young people face barriers when it comes to accessing creative opportunities and, more importantly, finding a path to sustainable employment.

Creative Ways into Work has been running for over ten years, and serves as our longest project here at Blueprint Arts. We tailor and refine the sessions with each iteration, working closely with participants to ensure we are providing the kind of learning and engagement they need.

We are currently funded by Colyer Fergusson, to deliver 3 years’ worth of Creative Ways to Work in Kent.

Why ‘Creative Ways Into Work’?

At Blueprint Arts, our driving force is to create meaningful change through our work. Over the ten years running Creative Ways into Work, we have seen the positive effect it has had on participants:

  • Nurturing Creativity: Creativity can be a source of personal growth and healing. Through storytelling, we strive to ignite creative sparks within each participant. Our aim is to inspire them to explore their creative potential, boosting their self-esteem and instilling a deep sense of accomplishment.
  • Bridging Connections: We are passionate about connecting our participants with industry professionals and providing them with the opportunity to build lasting bonds with like-minded peers. These connections reach far beyond the bounds of our program, enriching the lives of our young creators with diverse perspectives and friendships.
  • Access to Arts: We understand the challenges faced by many of the young people we serve. Some come from backgrounds of unemployment, making it difficult to break free from the cycle of poverty. That’s why we are dedicated to arming them with skills, and encouraging their ambition. “Creative Ways into Work” opens doors to high-quality arts education, employability skills, and the tools they need to forge unique paths toward further education and meaningful employment.
